For those who don’t want to understand. For those who understood but pretended not to understand. For those who evade. For those who whistle. For those who want to salvage the unsalvageable, here, thanks to Giancarlo Loquenzi’s research, is a short list, with my cursory translation of the slogans that for days, indeed for days and nights have been resounding darkly on American campuses where Jewish students are repeatedly threatened. “Ya Qassam (Hamas) make us proud. Take another soldier out,” “Hey Hamas, make us proud. Take another soldier out.” “There is only one solution, Intifada Revolution.” “We say justice, you say how? Burn Tel Aviv to the ground,” “We say justice, you say how? Burn Tel Aviv to the ground.” “Ya Hamas, we love you. We support your rockets too,” “Ya Hamas, we love you. And we support your rockets too.” “Ya Hamas, give them hell,” “Hey Hamas, send them to hell. “Goodbye Nazis, go back to Poland,” “hello Nazis, go back to Poland.” Note the subtlety of the last slogan: Unfortunately, the Jews came out of Poland with the smoke from the crematoria. How was the uplifting little story of anti-Zionism different from anti-Semitism?
On American campuses, the slogans of the good guys.
